[Dimitri is well aware that his...relationship, he guesses it what it is in all technicalities, with Vincent is wrong in so many ways. He, personally, was seeing Heath, Vincent was in questionable relationships with two other teachers (assumption based purely on rumors and the like, unreliable but Dimitri had to wonder), and, above all, Vincent was Dimitri's professor. Well, that should have been the "above all," and it was in the legal concerns. But Dimitri's mind has been gnawing at him to ask, to find out if someone else in this damn castle has Vincent to themselves. It won't stop him from struggling out of his sweater vest, if it's Selena or Aurel or someone else entirely, it really won't.]

So are you seeing anyone?

[He says it offhandedly as he folds his sweater vest. Usually, he just tosses it to the floor, but this has been grinding on his curiosity. Whether or not this meeting will lead to the sweaty lengths they sometimes do isn't on his mind at the moment. The next time he grabs Vincent's shirt collar and shoves his tongue in his mouth, he wants to know whose heart he should be proud of putting in harm's way.]

[As per usual Vincent was grading papers. He paused and looked up briefly just in time to see Dimitri strip out of his sweater vest. If this were someone else he would have questioned their motives, but seeing as this was Dimitri he learned to stop questioning and to just accept his... odd quirks.

Pausing some at the question he set his quill down. Was he really seeing someone other than his student? Sure there was the obvious attraction between him and Aurel, after all they were lovers once. But that was... in the past, and to really be with the nomad he would have to get used to travel. And he wasn't exactly ready for that kind of lifestyle.

Though, of course, just because he wasn't ready didn't mean he could not fool around with the old flame. Sighing he slid off his glasses and massaged his temples.]

I'm not romantically seeing anyone, but I am seeing someone.

[Dimitri pauses. He didn't think he could pick that quite apart. Obviously Vincent was seeing him, but it was entirely possible he didn't consider their partnering as "seeing" or anything. This possibility was fine by him, really, he just wasn't too fond of being taken off guard. Vagueness, ugh. He sets down his vest on Vincent's desk.]

And how does that make sense, professor?

[He grins at him, loosening his tie and unbuttoning the very top button holding his collar together. Much better, and all he had to do now for total comfort land was to roll his sleeves up to his elbows. A spell could do it easily, but he wanted to keep casual, easy-going.]

It makes perfect sense if you think about it. We aren't tied down by any kind of commitment.

[he trailed. He so desperately wanted to say "yet". As much as he enjoyed his bachelor's life, he wanted a partner for life. And he sure as hell didn't want to end up all alone like his brother.

Well-- Robert wasn't exactly going to end up alone, he still had time and what not-- but with the way he's going he might as well be forever alone.

His... little fling with Dimitri was unexpected, and... dare he say it a bit exciting, but he knew from the get go that it'd never last. Things like this never do.]

[He perks up at the response. Not quite what he was expecting.]

You don't think so?

[Dimitri shrugs, and starts to roll his sleeves. He keeps his focus on them, making sure they're neat and not too rushed. He briefly thinks about how much better Dominique is at these sorts of things, but thinking about Dominique in a situation like this makes his stomach flop into a pit of...guilt, he guessed. While not the closest of twins, they at least told each other everything, whether the other liked it or not. Dimitri didn't like to keep secrets from him; Vincent was a giant secret, and sometimes it concerned him. He finishes with his sleeves, and is outwardly far more calm than he is inside.]

I think it takes a great deal commitment to keep this going. All the excuses to friends and colleagues, the necessity of keeping our mouths shut...

[He trails off suggestively, and stops to pop his knuckles, one by one.]

For starters he hasn't asked me to be his boyfriend. We've just... had a few flings.

[he raises a brow as he looks at the boy in front of him. this was... certainly a side he wasn't used to seeing in his star student. well, no. scratch that he was used to seeing it, but not necessarily directed at him. a wave of dread washed over him though. surely Dimitri didn't think this could last forever.]

Well, er, yes. It does. But--
